Climate Change Activities in November

 

Even though climate change is already severely impacting ecosystems around the world, it is NOT too late to take action – at the individual, community, and global levels. This week, the Climate Reality Project will lead 24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action. For a 24-hour period from Wednesday, November 20th through Thursday, November 21st, trained Climate Reality Leaders in all 50 U.S. states and many other countries worldwide will host public presentations and special events focusing on the climate crisis and how we solve it.

Women’s Environmental Network members are encouraged to join the climate conversation by participating in one of these local events:

LEARNING OVER LUNCH: CLIMATE CHANGE SHOWCASE
Hear about the “Read Brave 2020: Our Climate Crisis” campaign, which unites city residents around the topic of climate change with selected books and conversation.

Featuring presentations from St. Paul’s Mayor Melvin Carter and Chief Resilience Officer Russ Stark,  and youth climate activists.

Climate Reality Hamline-Midway Day of Action

Speakers from the U of MN Bee Lab discussing pollinator and climate issues, and an overview of Hamline-Midway’s Ready and Resilient action plan.

These are just a handful of the many 24 Hours of Reality activities taking place this week. Find additional presentations throughout the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota here – and if you are unable to participate in any of the events on November 20th-21st, you always have the option to request a presentation from a trained Climate Reality Leader for your school, workplace, church, or other group at a different time during the year.
