Tennant is a global company, based in Minneapolis, that is a known leader in the cleaning industry. Tennant was founded in 1870 by George H. Tennant, and has evolved from a woodworking business in Minneapolis to a global manufacturer of floor cleaning equipment, employing over 4,000 individuals.
Not only has Tennant grown its business practices and services provided, but along the way has created and emphasized sustainability in its business model. The organization focuses on four sustainability areas: Products, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions/Energy, Waste, and People & Communities. They are involved in the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to reduce their Scope 3 Emissions, the emissions that are up and downstream of the direct operations of an organization, often very challenging emissions to tackle.
