At the end of August, WEN hosted a tour at CHS Field – the home of the St. Paul Saints.

Just south of St. Paul in Vermillion Township, the Hmong American Farmers Association (HAFA) Farm is striving to preserve Hmong heritage and support the economic development of the 80,000-strong Hmong American community of Minnesota.

What once sat as a former brownfield site is now considered home for the Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD).

It could not have been a more perfect, chilly night to have the Women’s Environmental Network’s first ever Cozy Career Conversations.

The weather was less-than-cooperative when the Women’s Environmental Network met up with the Urban Farm & Garden Alliance (UFGA) in early October for a tour of local community gardens in the Frogtown/Rondo neighborhoods of Saint Paul.

June’s networking event brought WEN members to Urban Growler Brewing Company in St. Paul, where we enjoyed some delicious craft beer served with a side of sustainability and an inspiring story of women leading the way in a traditionally male-dominated field.

WEN MN’s 10th Annual Networking Event on April 9, 2019 was part career fair – with representatives from leading local and national environmental entities engaging WEN members and guests from behind tables – part networking conversation – with all attendees mingling over food and drinks – and a whole lot of environmental mastery and inspiration in one place.

As part of the Women’s Environmental Network (WEN), I recently had the pleasure of listening to women from very different personal and professional backgrounds discuss their role in advancing environmental justice in the Twin Cities.

Our September event, The Psychology of Sustainable Behavior, featured Dr. Christie Manning, who has spent the last 12 years researching what it will take to move our world toward sustainability. In her talk she shared insights from psychology on how to create conditions that awaken awareness and encourage behavior change.
